Merging the two worlds

Praise him with the timbrel tambura and dance Bharatanatyam: praise him with stringed instruments veenai and organs harmoniums. Praise him upon the loud cymbals salangai: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals mridangam and nattuvangam. Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord. Psalms 150: 4-6

a word from the Guru...I cannot refer to this as Christian Bharatanatyam. That will be incorrect perhaps even a blasphemy. One cannot deny that this art form has its origin in Hinduism. I have no authority to change it to 'Christian' Bharatanatyam. I have carefully widened the horizon by adapting this art form to Christian themes without marring the purity, sanctity and rasa. --- Rani
